Family-Owned Urban Farm

Our Story

Family-Owned Urban Farm

Three years ago, a dream took root in a small, vacant lot in the city. Inspired by our children, ages five and three, we founded Four Loves Urban Farm with the vision of creating a beautiful space for them to learn, explore, and connect with nature. This dream has grown into a sanctuary for our family and farm stay guests, where people can gather, learn, and grow together. My husband, ever supportive and practical, balances my boundless ideas with his steady hands and dedication, spending countless hours building structures, picking weeds and guiding our children in discovering the creatures that call our farm home.

Over the years, our farm has evolved, but our core principles remain the same: providing immersive and educational experiences, growing fresh and nutritious food, and cultivating a variety of flowers to sell as beautiful bouquets. Four Loves Urban Farm stands as a testament to dreams realized through hard work, love, and a shared vision. We invite you to join us, get your hands dirty, and let the magic and beauty of the farm inspire you as it has inspired us.

The Four Loves

Urban Farm Courtyard

At Four Loves Urban Farm, we are part of a bigger picture, working cohesively with our extended family to create a unique and welcoming space. Our Aunt and Uncle own and operate the Historic Randles Court Motel, which is located on the same property as our farm. Together, we run these businesses with a shared vision and philosophy.

Our farm's name, Four Loves, is inspired by the ancient Greek concepts of love: storge (familial love), agape (unconditional love), eros (romantic love), and philia (friendship love). We aim to blend these four types of love into our vision for the property, providing a place where friends and families can connect, love can grow deeper, and new friendships can bud.

A central hub of our property is the courtyard, a welcoming space next to the garden where guests can gather, share meals, and fellowship. It embodies our desire to foster community and connection. As C.S. Lewis beautifully put it, “Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another,

‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one.’”

At Four Loves Urban Farm and Historic Randles Court Motel, we are dedicated to creating a space where love in all its forms can flourish, bringing people together in meaningful and lasting ways.

Fresh & Sustainable

Farm Practices

Here at Four Loves Urban Farm, we are dedicated to using eco-friendly and sustainable farming practices. Our approach includes utilizing organic methods, such as composting and crop rotation, to maintain healthy soil and eliminate the need for chemical fertilizers. We also implement water-saving techniques like drip irrigation and rain water collection to conserve this precious resource. By prioritizing biodiversity, we plant a variety of crops and flowers, which helps support a robust ecosystem and natural pest control. Our commitment to these practices ensures that we produce fresh, healthy food while caring for the environment.
